Mathias Heise with festival musicians!
The eminent composer and jazz harmonica player Mathias Heise presents his compositions for classical ensembles. From duos and string quartets to small chamber ensembles, this concert will also feature Mathias himself as a soloist.
If you are into the Copenhagen jazz scene, you will likely have heard (about) Mathias Heise — few musicians shine on their instrument the way that he does. Mathias plays the harmonica like no one else, but he is also a composer. In recent years, he has been writing for classical instruments and ensembles, creating music that bridges genres in exciting ways. We know Mathias from the local music scene, and he is a truly captivating and unique musician. This concert bridges the gap between jazz and classical, showing that the boundaries between genres may not be as wide as we think.
